Motion Media's 4k Bundle

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — To improve data consolidation and maximize performance, Splash Entertainment, an animation studio involved in distribution, post production, online content creation and video on demand (VOD), moved away from older, mismatched storage solutions and switched to Motion Media’s new 4K Studio Bundle, which is built upon Infortrend’s EonStor DS storage systems. The bundle also includes solutions from Infortrend’s technology partners, namely Tiger Technology’s Workflow Controller and ATTO’s 16Gb/s FC connectivity and offers users in the media and entertainment (M&E) industry with some of the strongest features available.

Before making the move, Splash entertainment was using five different storage systems, including an old AVID Unity, 4GB SAN, 1GB NAS along with numerous USB drives and needed a better and more efficient data center to support new operations involved in the creation of full-length animated feature films in addition to its regular lineup of animated television series. Splash Entertainment wanted an integrated turnkey solution with higher speed, more capacity and reliability that would support Avid bin locking, 4K performance and automated archiving while also being scalable. After reviewing all of the options on the market and speaking with several storage solution providers, Splash Entertainment decided on Motion Media’s 4K Studio Bundle.

Patrick Coy, Director of Technology at Splash Entertainment said: “Avid bin locking and an all-in-one storage solution were mission critical. With the amount of data that a media and entertainment company must keep live at all times, having one expandable storage infrastructure couldn’t be overlooked. Too much time and manpower were being used on managing multiple systems that were outdated. The 4K Bundle storage solution has secured us with expandable results that will fit our growth, while also giving us the redundancy and reliability that our company must maintain in order to be successful. Performance and reliability are keys to the success of our business. Motion Media and its partners have provided a level of service that is unparalleled in a market that relies on sales versus customer service!”

“The 4K Studio Bundle solution brings together the best components from established M&E manufacturers with an emphasis on price, performance, stability, and redundancy. It offers more features than any other solution on the market but at an exceptionally competitive price without cutting corners or sacrificing reliability.” said Brian Austin, Systems Architect for the Motion Media‘s 4K Studio Bundle.
