Alienbrain 10.1 announced!

We are very happy to announce the release of Alienbrain 10.1.
See what’s new in Alienbrain 10.1:

Improved Thumbnail Support

- Thumbnails can now be displayed at 16×16 and 32×32 pixels.
- Thumbnails can now also be shown next to the status icon in Details Mode.
- Drawing of thumbnails has been speed up, reducing the time it takes to enumerate a folder

List View Enhancements
- customizable font for the List View to maximize legibility
- Drag and drop/Copy and paste improvements automatically rename the dropped/pasted object if a file/folder with that name already exists at the target location. A “- Copy” postfix is added.
- Files can now be dropped onto the item list in the list view without having to find an empty space

Administration Client Enhancements
- Logging has been added to the User Management pane to ensure that accidental role or permissions changes can be traced.
- A user list export function has been added to the user management pane.

Integration Support for new Artist Creation Tools
Alienbrain 10.1 expands the list of digital content creation tools we support with the following:
- Autodesk Alias 2013 (32bit/64bit)
- Autodesk Maya 2013 (32bit/64bit)
- Autodesk Softimage 2013 (32bit/64bit)

Note: Autodesk 3dsMax 2013 support will follow shortly and will be available for download separately.

Alienbrain 10.1 is a free upgrade for every customer with a valid maintenance contract.

A note about licensing
Unless you are upgrading from 10.0, this release does require an updated license.

Important note for those upgrading from version 7.5 or older
Please note that the project converter no longer ships with version 10.x releases. If you wish to upgrade to version 10.x, please note that you may have to upgrade to version 9.0 first to convert your projects.

64-bit Server

By porting the Alienbrain server to the 64-bit platform, we enabled our backend to take advantage of much more memory, up to 256GB. This improvement will ensure that even the largest projects will be handled swiftly. Less time waiting for the server means more time polishing your products.

Syntax Highlighting

With Alienbrain 10, we have updated the preview to syntax highlight source code files in the preview. The system we use is very extensible and easy to adapt even for your own custom file formats.
